Find Parts for Component: Balances

Double-hung balances are determined by the unique specifications of the frame height and the sash weight. Contact Eagle Inside Sales for assistance in selecting the correct balance.

An upper or lower sash weighing 60 lb. or less requires at least one block-and-tackle balance clipped onto each jambliner.
An upper or lower sash weighing over 60 lb. and up to 90 lb. requires a spiral balance in each jambliner. (The #8 screw attaches the balance to the wood jamb.)
Any sash weighing over 90 lb. must be fixed, or stationary.

Eagle strongly recommends that you replace both jambliner assemblies to ensure symmetrical operation. At a minimum, you should replace the balances on both jambs at the same time.
