Abalone Kynar-coated A751 Sill Nosing (#K16424)

This heavy-duty exterior trim recreates the look of historical molding below a window, complementing any casing or brickmold around the jambs and head. It connects to the accessory and nailing-fin grooves by means of a trim connector and to the rough opening with the sill-nosing nailing fin.

A751 sill nosing is primarily sold as part of a package that includes the nailing fin and connectors. You can also purchase an installation kit complete with end caps, weather strip and all the hardware you'll need for combining sill nosing with casing for jobsite installation.

Benefits

  • Baked-on silicone polyester enamel coating conforms to AAMA 2604-98
  • Highly resistant to scratches and warranted against cracking, checking, peeling, flaking, blistering, adhesion, chalking and color change
  • This option meets the requirements for projects that contain a Kynar 500™ finish specification

Comments

  • Insert a shim onto each end, then caulk with silicone sealant.
  • Dress each side with a matching end cap.
  • Cover nailing fin with two corner pads.
  • A752 sill nosing is also available for use with the deeper exterior casings A754 and A755, and the older A505 sill nosing is still sold as a replacement part.
  • Where sill nosing meets brickmold along the side jambs, notch the sill nosing at each end to accommodate a corner key inserted into the brickmold. (Note that flat casing has no groove to receive a corner key.) The dimensions are given in the drawing above; begin the notch at the following distance from the exterior along the top, according to the profile of the vertical casing:

  • Brickmold Dimension A
    A753 0.235 in.
    A756 0.497 in.
