Smokey Gray Painted Standard Half-screen Retainers (#78226)

A popular option for windows with a fixed sash, the half-screen is held in place in clad units by an extruded aluminum retainer. The retainer is screwed to the upper sash of a double-hung or the non-venting sash of a slide-by.

To calculate the length of the retainer, subtract 4-1/2 in. from the width of the double-hung window frame or 2-7/8 in. from the height of the slide-by window frame.
Attach to the sash with a minimum of three #8 x 1/2 in. Type A Pan-Head Phillips Teks� Point Self-drilling Screws, after drilling slots 1 in. from each end for a double-hung or 1-1/4 for a slide-by. Continue drilling every 12 in.
Cap each side with a foam end plug.
